Northwest Education Access, NWEA, provides comprehensive and individualized support to help low-income young people, ages 16-29, build their own path to higher education and beyond.
Northwest Education Access helps low income and marginalized young people make strong transitions to local community colleges and four year universities. Our students are succeeding in college and leaving poverty behind, preparing to give back to society as professionals and leaders of the next generation.
NWEA serves economically disadvantaged young people, ages 16-29:
- 100% were low-income
- 51% have experienced homelessness
- 9% have been in foster care
- 20% are young parents
- 79% are people of color
- 35% are immigrants or refugees
- 14% identify as LGBTQ
- 5% transgender or gender non-conforming
